Sales Analyst is responsible for analyzing, executing pricing strategies, and quoting based on an ongoing collaboration with sales teams. The project analyst is also responsible for tracking and communicating market intelligence and customer/job prospects. Assists division and area management on various strategic sales and marketing projects by providing detailed analytical and reporting support in the form of pricing and volume analysis, customer end-use/ segment research, and long-term projections. Supports and engages with general and area sales managers in using pricing, volume, backlog, business performance, and customer use analysis to provide a clear, holistic view of the market and our position within it.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for quoting price (material and freight) on complex jobs based on tactical market intelligence and division pricing strategy;
  • Provides initial price recommendation to the sales services manager, area sales manager, and sales representatives;
  • For DOT lettings and strategic projects, performs initial competitive analysis and provides pricing recommendations to Sales;
  • Interprets specifications and project plans to extract meaningful information. Works directly with the sales team and may take the lead in developing bids and project proposals. Assists in proactively identifying strategic growth opportunities;
  • Monitors customer profitability and activity to provide account allocation recommendations to division sales management. Actively engages in regular business unit meetings as assigned;
  • Collects, monitors, and distributes meaningful market intelligence to sales teams;
  • Provides additional market data, competitive and qualified leads to the sales team. Focuses on future growth, process improvements, gaining market share, and building the business;
  • Prepares marketing analytics (including pricing, volume, and backlog metrics) to aid area sales manager and sales service center manager and vice president & general manager with actionable information for general and divisional meetings
  • Supports area and general managers by providing strategic lens and internal/external view analysis to understand market position better and ensure appropriate resource allocation.
  • Provides key data analysis and actionable insights and recommendations to division management in the areas of pricing and final quotes on significant projects.
  • Review KPIs and other metrics to help sales service center and area sales managers identify the effectiveness of current sales tactics.
  • Provides support to sales teams in other markets as necessary;
  • Manages the quote follow-up process, including the identification of and logging new quotes as well as leading quote follow-up review meetings with sales reps;
  • Engages with the sales teams in developing the annual budget and SBFS entry and projections.


Skills You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • 2 more years experience in implementing pricing strategies and market analysis in construction materials or related industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and orientation with the ability to apply analytical concepts to complex business problems, including familiarity with pricing and market analysis and essential mathematical concepts.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to interface effectively with many different audiences. Must be able to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Plan, prioritize, organize and complete projects timely. Handle simultaneous projects under tight time pressures.
  • Work in a deadline-oriented environment that requires complex, technical information and decision-making.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and think strategically with the management team.

Salary Range. The base salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $100,000 annual salary. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
